Welcome Message from the Senior Principal
Dear Future Students, Parents, and Valued Educational Partners,
I extend a warm welcome to Starehe Girls Centre, a beacon of academic excellence, leadership, and holistic development, with a sense of immense pride and pleasure. I am pleased to provide updates that demonstrate our unwavering dedication to the development of resilient, innovative, and compassionate young women as we celebrate our accomplishments and seize new opportunities.
KCSE Performance
For the last two years Starehe Girls Centre has been registering positive deviation in KCSE in the year 2023 it registered a mean score 8.49 (B-) with a positive deviation of 0.33. In the year 2024 it registered a mean score of 8.83 (B) with a positive deviation of 0.34.
This positive deviation is attributed to different strategies that motivates both the teachers and the students to work hard. One of the strategies is “Operation Plus 5” This is a self-evaluation Slogan in which every student targets to add at least 5 marks for every subject from last exam done. This targets that the student move at least to the next grade. For every exam done, the Schools majors on awarding most improved so that every student has a chance of being awarded.
2025 Candidates have mean score target of 9.50 and everybody is working hard towards that.
University Transition
In the year 2024 out 194 candidates, 184 scored a C+ (plus) and above, only 9 students got C plain and 1 student got C- minus. Our target for 2025 candidates is 100% transition to the University.
Strategies
Our students receives individualized rigorous academic performance and mentorship facilitated by a renowned academic mentor Mr. Sam Vidambu. Our students are also offered psychosocial support to ensure success not only in examination but also future change makers.
