Admissions Overview
We are happy that you are considering Starehe Girls Centre for your child’s education. We recognize that choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. The goal of the admissions process is to ease your child’s entry into the Centre and to welcome your daughter/ ward Starehe Girls Centre& School community.
We accept students at the beginning of each academic year and we strongly encourage parents/guardians to apply as early as possible. Please note that in order to speed up the preparation of records pending decision of acceptance, it is important to submit all the required documents as required on the Blue Form Application. An application review will only begin after a complete application is submitted.
Our academic school year runs from early January through early December; the first term ends early April; second term starts in May through to early August and the last term commences in September to early December.
Starehe Girls’ Centre accepts 200 students per year of whom three quarters are sponsored students from disadvantaged background while a quarter are self sponsored students.

Admission Policy
Selection Process
Once all the Blue Form Application are received at the Centre, the successful shortlisted blue forms are grouped per Counties, then grading is done based on a need assessment on a scale of 1 to 10, with the least disadvantaged (those in categories 1 – 5) being discounted while ensuring that each county is well represented and kept in a file in advance while waiting for the KCPE results.
Upon the official release of the KCPE Results, by the Kenya National Examination Council, individual Application Form are further evaluated and considered based on Financial need, Age and Academic Excellence with multiple stage evaluation process including, telephone and in person interviews, for selected applicants by a select committee of 12 members. The whole process takes a maximum of one week and involves much debate before final agreement is reached.
Placement & Reporting
Placement is done after all qualified sponsored students obtain an admission letter through the Ministry of Education website Form 1 Admission Letter here The letter bears joining instructions for Form One students. A list of qualified students is also posted at a notice board found at Starehe Girls Centre’s main gate for parents and guardians viewing.
All qualified selected students are invited to report at a given date. Upon completion of the admission process and after authenticating that the right girl is the one who has reported a formal welcome is extended to the student and is handed over to a sister for proper induction in the unique culture and ethos of Starehe. The Starehe Blue Form Application is not sold under any circumstances.
Form 1 2023 Application
Starehe Girls Centre accepts The 2023 Blue form applications for Form 1 Class until the 31st of October 2023. After the KCPE Examination is officially released, probably between November and December 2023, priority will be given to all the applicants who filled out the form properly, applied on time, Chose the School as the first choice of National School, and attained the requisite KCPE marks for the year 2023 during the selection period.

Kindly note that we accept both the downloaded white forms and photocopies of the same. Ensure the form is properly filled and all necessary documents are attached.
