Starehe Girls Centre core mandate of is to provide quality education in an holistic approach in order to develop full potential in academic and personal development of all students. This is achieved through teaching of a well-developed wide curriculum that open up many career avenues for students.
Starehe Girls Centre recognizes the important role played by assessment in the process of teaching and learning. We view assessment as a crucial opportunity for both teachers and students in the process of teaching and learning to determine whether learning is taking place or not, thus providing the platform for informed futuristic planning.

To reach their mandatory total of 12 subjects, Juniors then have a range of options, covering:

Choices for Seniors
After two years, girls become seniors and are able to drop four subjects.
They then have two core options:
Triple science students
Study the three core subjects; (English, Kiswahili and Mathematics)
+ all three sciences

+ one practical or applied subject
Double science students
Study the three core subjects;
+ two sciences
+ two of the humanities
