Since Starehe Girls’ Centre is both a school and a home it is important for students to have a say in the running, development and day-to-day improvement of the school. As such, barazas (open forums acting as the parliament) are held on Fridays headed by the school Director. Students are allowed to critique, appreciate, ask or suggest anything that would be of value to the Centre. No victimization whatsoever occurs of any student who presents her issues. There is also a suggestion box that serves at least half the purpose of the Baraza. Issues raised help the Centre to grow and the fraternity to live as a family.
